New Assistant Chief Constable joins West Mercia Police

Richard Moore was born in Northern Ireland and joined West Midlands Police when he was 20, in 1992.

During his 25 years of service, Richard has held roles as head of Local Policing for East Birmingham, Programme Director for Business Transformation, as well as roles in Counter Terrorism and crime investigation.

Richard joins Warwickshire Police and West Mercia Police as Assistant Chief Constable with responsibility for Protective Services, which includes responsibility for Crime Management, Forensics Services, Intelligence, Major Investigations, Operations, Protecting Vulnerable People and Specialist Operations.

Richard said of his new role "I am very proud to be joining Warwickshire Police and West Mercia Police as the Assistant Chief Constable and I would like to thank all the staff and partners who have given me a very warm welcome. I look forward to working with my new colleagues and our partner agencies to deliver the very best service to all our communities"

Chief Constable Anthony Bangham said: "Richard has brought a wealth of experience to the role, and I know that our communities will benefit from his enthusiasm and his commitment."
