More libraries to re-open across Herefordshire

More libraries in Herefordshire will re-open to the public this week.

Bromyard, Peterchurch and Weobley, which were all temporarily closed due to the coronavirus pandemic, will re-open for public access with safety measures in place.

Belmont, Colwall, Kington and Leintwardine will also be open as well operating the Click & Collect service that they have been offering.

Libraries at Hereford, Ledbury, Leominster and Ross will continue to operate as normal.

Cllr Gemma Davies, Cabinet Member for Commissioning, Procurement and Assets, said: “We are fully aware of how valued our libraries are and we’re delighted that we can do this next stage of re-opening. I would like to thank everyone for their patience and continued support of our service.

“It is important to note though that, while a lot of restrictions have been eased, coronavirus is not going away and indeed the number of cases in the county are rising and expected to rise further.

“Therefore, to keep everyone safe, staff members at all of our libraries are continuing to adhere to guidance including wearing face coverings and I encourage visitors to do likewise.”
