A man was rescued from the River Severn in Shrewsbury yesterdayafter getting in to difficulty in the water.
Officers were called to the English Bridge at around 1.15pm following reports that a man had entered the water before getting in to difficulty.
Members of the public initially tried to help the man, before emergency services arrived who were able to help him out of the water.
The 64-year-old was then taken to hospital in a critical condition where he remains.
