Police are appealing for witnesses following a collision on the A4103 at Bransford.
It happened at around 6.30am on Saturday.
A Nissan Micra was travelling towards Worcester from Leigh Sinton when it crossed the central white line and collided with an artic lorry travelling in the opposite direction.
The 38-year-old driver received several serious injuries that are thought to be life changing and he was taken to the Royal Worcestershire Royal Hospital for initial treatment before having surgery at Queen Elizabeth Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
The driver of the lorry attended Worcestershire Royal Hospital for treatment to minor injuries.
