West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the incident involving a van and HGV on Legions Cross Road at 10:30am and sent two ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Midland Air Ambulance from Strensham to the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “On arrival crews discovered the driver of the van in a critical condition.
“Crews immediately began administering advanced life support to him.
