Two major incidents in Worcestershire and Shropshire have now been stood down.
Earlier this week, major incidents were declared in both counties due to significant flooding.
The Environment Agency also issued two Severe Flood Warnings due to concerns the temporary flood barriers could overtop in Ironbridge and Beale’s Corner in Bewdley.
Yesterday, the major incident status in Shropshire was stood down and this evening Worcestershire Tactical Co-Ordination Group met to review the major incident status in Worcestershire, this has now also been stood down.
West Mercia Police Assistant Chief Constable Damian Barratt said: “Over the past few days we have seen significant flooding across the counties we cover and have been working closely with our partner agencies to respond to the flooding and support our local communities.
“This evening the major incident status in Worcestershire was stepped down, meaning both major incidents have now been concluded. However, I would like to offer reassurance to our local communities that our multi-agency response will continue over the coming days, and we will continue to engage and offer support to those who have been affected, as they continue to recover from the effect of the flooding.”
