Ludlow’s historic Mayfair is set to return later this month, bringing rides, games and food stalls back to the town centre.
The fair will arrive in the town from 5pm on Wednesday 29 April, with attractions opening to the public from Thursday 30 April until Monday 4 May.
Mill Street, Market Square and Events Square will once again host the event, which has been a longstanding tradition in Ludlow.
The Mayfair has been organised for generations by the Wynn family, who continue to bring the fair to the town each year.
Visitors can expect classic rides including dodgems, waltzers, a traditional carousel and a range of fairground games and food stalls.
One of the highlights of the weekend will be the Mayfair Dodgem Service on Sunday 3 May, where a church service is held with the congregation seated in dodgem cars.
Road closures will be in place across parts of the town centre from the evening of Wednesday 29 April until the morning of Tuesday 5 May.
These will affect areas including High Street, Mill Street, Castle Square and Dinham.
Ludlow Market will also temporarily close from Monday 27 April and is due to reopen on Wednesday 6 May after the fair has finished.
Town Clerk Gina Wilding said the Mayfair remains one of Ludlow’s most loved traditions and thanked residents and traders for their cooperation during the temporary changes.
