Holmer WI and Bloor Homes commemorate HM The Queen’s Jubilee Year

Holmer Womens Institute (WI) has commemorated HM The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Year with a tree planting and plaque thanking Her Majesty for services to the nations.

Bloor Homes donated the flowering crab apple tree, chosen by Holmer WI, which was planted in the central area of the new Hereford Point development. It will grow alongside other fruit trees in the same area and become part of a ‘mini orchard’ for residents to enjoy.

Mary Burgess, President of Holmer WI said, “With the key planting season between October and April, we had decided to plant the tree this Autumn. When Her Majesty The Queen passed away, it became even more poignant to mark her Platinum Jubilee. It is our sincere hope that the tree will be here for generations to come and will stand with the plaque as a reminder of The Queen’s dedication to national duty.”
