Take the first steps towards a healthier lifestyle with the 'Walk This May Challenge', organised by Herefordshire's local Wellbeing Walks groups and Worcestershire Health Walks.
The challenge invites people to see how many times they can collectively walk 53 miles, the length of the border between the two counties.
Whether you're a seasoned walker or new to physical activity, this challenge is designed to bring people together and promote getting active.
The event runs from Monday 12 May to Sunday 25 May, offering an opportunity to meet new people, increase your physical activity, and reap the numerous health benefits of walking.
The free walks across the two counties are over easy ground and taken at steady pace to suit everyone. Walks range from 10 to 90 minutes and are easily accessible on foot or by public transport.
Stephen Brewster, Active Herefordshire and Worcestershire CEO said: "We are really excited to offer this new challenge for regular walkers and new joiners this May. If you've been looking for a new challenge or way to get moving more, we are ready to welcome you."
Dr. Lisa McNally, Director of Public Health for Worcestershire County Council, added: "Walking is a great way to build physical fitness and making new friends. Being in the outdoors in the fresh air is a simple, enjoyable way to boost our physical and mental wellbeing while also helping the environment. Regular walks can lower stress and blood pressure, improve sleep, lift your mood, and support healthy weight management."
Zoe Clifford, Director of Public Health for Herefordshire Council said: "This month, we're inviting everyone to take part in our Walk This May Challenge.
"Joining these organised walks is a fantastic way to be active, have fun, and enjoy quality time with friends both old and new."
