Four-home town plan passed in Ross-on-Wye

A bungalow in a Herefordshire town can be knocked down and four larger houses built in its place.

The plan for the corner of Brampton Road and Three Crosses Road, Ross-on-Wye, consists of two pairs of three-bedroom semi-detached houses, one pair giving onto Brampton Road, the other onto Three Crosses Road.

Submitted by a Mr Costello of Tewkesbury, the revised scheme was supported by Ross-on-Wye Town Council, though it drew nine objections locally.

These expressed concern over the scale and form of the development and impact on neighbouring properties, impact on parking, traffic and road safety, drainage issues, and loss of trees.

But Herefordshire Council planning officer Webster said that as they would lie within the main built-up part of Ross-on-Wye, the houses would meet both local and national planning policy.

Conditions of the approval included that electric vehicle charging points for each house be installed, and water efficiency measures demonstrated.
