Five new homes could be built near a farm in Cleobury Mortimer.
Agents Landseer Properties have applied for permission on behalf of the Robinson family for land near New House Farm, Tenbury Road, Cleobury Mortimer.
In its application, the firm said: “The applicants are an established farming family, best known locally for Mawley Milk.
“They have also developed the New House Farm Trading Estate on land immediately to the south west of the site, on which many of Cleobury’s leading employers, including Severn Edge Vets and Hobsons Brewery have set up their businesses.
“David and Margaret Robinson moved from Mawley Town Farm approximately 12 years ago to make way for their son and his family to run the dairy and have settled in New House Farmhouse immediately to the west of the site.
“The applicant is not a developer and is therefore applying for outline planning only, with plot designs and final plot siting to be subject to reserved matters.
“The site is located five minutes’ walk to the south west of the centre of Cleobury Mortimer and comprises a small field.
“The site already benefits from an existing highway access onto the Tenbury Road which is to be widened slightly to serve the site.
“This access also serves the applicant’s house.
“The site slopes up from the road to the southern boundary by a height of 10m.
“To the north of the site is the Tenbury Road, beyond which lies a residential area including Barnsfields; to the west is the applicant’s house – New House Farm; to the south is Hobsons Brewery.
“To the east is a field of approximately one hectare which is subject to a planning permission for 22 new dwellings.”
It added: “The applicants hope that sufficient information has been provided in this application covering the areas of concern highlighted in the pre-application response to enable outline permission to be granted by Shropshire Council for five new dwellings on the site.
“By bringing forward an application on a site which has already been allocated in the local plan, they also hope to assist Shropshire Council in achieving its housing numbers in a preferred location.”
