The Baileys at Home store in Frogmore Street, Abergavenny, has closed its doors for the very last time this morning.
Locally owned and run by the Bailey family, the Baileys at Home store was opened four years ago as an extension to the family’s successful business portfolio that includes the BP petrol garage and Baileys DIY on Brecon Road and Baileys DIY in Ross-on-Wye.
“We opened our Baileys at Home store four years ago in the hope that we could help to boost the economy in Abergavenny, but it just hasn’t happened at this end of Frogmore Street.” Said Baileys managing director, Ian Bailey.
“It wasn’t an easy decision to make to close the store but I’m confident that we’ve given it our best shot. It was time to call it a day and to turn our focus to what we know best in our core businesses - our garage and our two DIY stores”.
Luckily, no jobs will be lost. The Bailey family employ over 90 local people and staff working at the Baileys at Home store will be found positions elsewhere in the company.
