As temperatures soar, Theatre Severn in Shrewsbury has announced the sizzling cast starring in Beauty and the Beast this panto season.
Shropshire Council’s theatre managers say panto lovers have already snapped up more than 60 per cent of tickets for the run, which begins on Wednesday 30 November 2022.
The pantomime is written by Telford-born Paul Hendy and produced by Evolution, the creative team behind pantomimes at Theatre Severn since 2011. Brad Fitt returns to direct the show and star in his 11th season at Theatre Severn in the role of Nurse Nellie.
Brad will be joined by an all-new cast as Theatre Severn welcomes Tommy J Rollason (as seen on Britain’s Got Talent 2022) in the role of comedy character Jangles. Fresh from starring in Birmingham Hippodrome’s Goldilocks and The Three Bears, Samantha Dorrance will play the title role of Beauty. Whilst newcomers Kane Oliver Parry and Tom Carter-Miles will play the roles of Gaston and the Beast, and Jo Osmond will play the fairy.
Cecilia Motley, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member for communities, culture, leisure and tourism, and transport, said: “Panto season at our theatre is always a huge success.
“We have a very successful partnership with Evolution, and Theatre Severn is a fabulous venue which we are proud to operate and share with our audiences. The fact that more than 60 per cent of tickets have already sold speaks for itself.
“I look forward to the start of the run and another successful season with Beauty and the Beast.”
