Shropshire firefighters were called to three out-of-control bonfires in under two hours yesterday.
Crews dealt with blazes in Shrewsbury, Bishops Castle and Market Drayton, with fires spreading to gardens, fields and trees.
It follows repeated warnings from the fire service during the dry weather, after weeks of little rainfall.
A spokesperson urged people not to light bonfires, saying even small flames can spread dangerously fast.
