In-patients and long-term dialysis out-patients at Ludlow Community Hospital have each received a Christmas present and card.
The League of Friends purchased forty Christmas gifts for those who are being treated at the hospital.
Unfortunately, due to Covid-19 regulations it was possible for Father Christmas to pay his traditional visit and he instead deputized NHS staff members of Ludlow Hospital to do the job for him.
Peter Corfield, Chairman of The League, said: “This has always been the highlight of the year when Santa gets to meet all our patients and bring a spark of cheer and happiness. Regrettably, our volunteers have not been able to access Dinham Ward or the Dialysis Unit since March but we felt strongly that all our patients should know that they are very much in our thoughts.”
“This year we are extremely grateful to Dave Ashton, Manager of Tesco Ludlow, and his outstanding staff for generously supporting our purchase of the 40 Christmas gifts for patients. Like many charities, this year has proved difficult for fundraising but such local support has been most welcome” added Peter.
