Changes are being made to the testing centres for people with covid symptoms, in Hereford and Leominster.

As a temporary measure, from today, the drive-through covid testing centre at Merton Meadow, Hereford will move from its current location to the opposite side of the road while a more permanent testing site is constructed. The new testing centre will open on Monday 17 May.

Due to very low attendance figures, the Leominster testing centre for people with covid symptoms in Broad St car park will be replaced with a mobile testing unit that will be rotated between this location and Ross-on-Wye Wilton Rd car park.

Sarah Smith, Herefordshire Public Health Consultant said: “As we respond to changing needs we must focus our resources where they are needed most in the county. I would like to encourage anyone with covid symptoms to book a test and self-isolate, to help stop the spread of the virus.”

If you have covid symptoms, you should book a covid test online or dial 119 from any phone to book.

If you are symptom-free there are a number of testing sites available for residents who live or work in Herefordshire, alternatively you can pick up a test from participating pharmacies or you can order tests for home delivery. More information can be found on the council website
