Cashless parking in Herefordshire is switching to a new provider from next week.
Motorists will be able to use JustPark from Tuesday 7 January. The last day that motorists will be able to use RingGo, the current provider, is Friday 10 January and local people who use cashless parking are being encouraged to download the JustPark app as soon as possible so that they are fully prepared for the new service.
There will be no change in pricing for cashless parking.
Cllr Barry Durkin, Cabinet Member for Roads and Regulatory Services, said: "We are pleased to be partnering with JustPark to deliver our cashless parking option from early in the new year with no changing of prices. We appreciate that there will be a new app and a new experience for the public to get used to. This is why we are urging those who frequently use cashless parking to please download the JustPark app as soon as possible, to familiarise themselves with it and avoid any last minute difficulties when the service switches over.
"We'd also like to remind people that it is important that they only download apps from a proper app store. There have been instances in the past of people falling victim to scam apps, so it is important that this risk is avoided."
