The full list of candidates standing at next month’s Bromyard West ward by-election has been announced.
The three candidates are:
Clare Davies (Independent)
Nick Ferguson (Independent)
Mark Franklin (Local Conservatives)
Former Bromyard mayoress Clare Davies had earlier said she would stand as a True Independent candidate – a group which currently has five county councillors.
She said on social intends to publish and distribute a manifesto shortly.
Nick Ferguson has described himself as the candidate for the Independents for Herefordshire group. With 18 councillors this is currently the largest group on Herefordshire Council, which it controls jointly with the Green Party.
He said he will begin canvassing “in earnest next week”.
Local MP Sir Bill Wiggin has meanwhile been sighted canvassing for the Conservative candidate Mark Franklin, a current Bromyard town councillor.
The election has arisen following the resignation of Independents for Herefordshire councillor Alan Seldon at the start of the year.
It will be held on March 10, with voting between 7am and 10pm at two polling stations, Bromyard Methodist Church Hall on New Road, and Bromyard Public Hall on Rowberry Street.
