Lawn No 2 Bridge, which carries a ‘C’ classified road over the River Clun, will be closed to traffic from next Monday for up to three weeks for repairs.
The repair works will involve concrete repairs to the soffit of the structure and provision of new parapet upstands, repairs and painting of the parapet and minor resurfacing of the carriageway.
Unfortunately, in order to carry out the proposed work safely, it will be necessary to close the bridge to vehicular traffic. The normal working hours will be between 8am and 4pm Mondays to Fridays. Provided that the weather remains reasonable, it is estimated that the work will take up to three weeks to complete.
When the bridge is closed, traffic will be diverted via the B4368 and local roads by a signed diversion route. Access over the bridge for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will remain available throughout the proposed work.
