The A4103 Hereford to Worcester Road has re-opened following an earlier collision near the A465 junction.
Emergency services including the air ambulance were called to the two-vehicle crash at just after 11:30am.
Herefordshire Council and Balfour Beatty Living Places said the road is likely to be closed for 'several hours'.
Motorists are being advised to find an alternative route with long delays reported in the area.
UPDATE: The road was re-opened at 1:40pm.
