Poundworld has gone into administration, putting more than 5-thousand jobs at risk.

Last-ditch rescue talks have failed at the retailer - which has stores in Hereford, Gloucester, Shrewsbury and Telford.

Deloitte has been drafted in - and says there are no redundancies or store closures currently.

Toys R Us and Maplin have gone through similar problems, while House of Fraser announced plans which could affect 6000 roles last week.
