Senior doctors begin walkouts

There are warnings routine hospital care could come to a virtual standstill as senior medics in Herefordshire take fresh strike action.

Members of the British Medical Association are walking out for 48 hours over pay and conditions - but we're told emergency cover will be provided.

NHS bosses say patient safety will be prioritised, and health partners are working together to ensure that critical services will continue to be available.

Planned appointments and clinics are likely to be affected; however, people should continue to attend their appointments unless they are contacted directly by the NHS, which will let them know if an appointment needs to be rescheduled.
