Gwent Police are appealing for witnesses following a road traffic collision in Pontllanfraith.
A black Vauxhall Corsa was in a single-vehicle collision in Llanarth Road at around 3.10am on Thursday, 21 October.
A man in his 30s was taken to the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, for treatment. He is in a critical but stable condition in hospital.
Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has any CCTV or dash-cam footage of the area at the time is asked to contact police on 101.
