A woman has died following a collision in Usk yesterday.
The collision took place at approximately 2.17pm on the A472, at its junction with the A449 at Usk and involved two cars; a grey Seat Ibiza and a silver Suzuki Vitara.
A 73 year old woman, a passenger travelling in the Seat, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. A 75 year old man and a 45 year woman were also travelling in the vehicle at the time and were taken to the University Hospital of Wales with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
The 78 year old man who was driving the Vitara sustained chest injuries and was also taken to hospital for treatment.
They all remain in hospital at this time.
The road A472 and Monmouth Road, Usk, were temporarily closed while emergency services were in attendance.
Officers are keen to speak with anyone who may have seen the vehicles before the collision occurred and any motorist who has dashcam footage in the area at that time.
