Tributes are being paid to former County Councillor Ken Pollock who passed away on January 4th.
Ken had been a County Councillor for Tenbury for 12 years and served as Cabinet Member with Responsibility for Economy, Skills and Infrastructure from 2016 up until 2021.
Whilst in the role of Cabinet Member, he helped to deliver many of the major infrastructure improvements in place today including the dualling of the Southern Link Road in Worcester, Worcestershire Parkway Railway Station which opened in February 2020, the new Kidderminster Railway Station and Worcester Six business park, amongst others.
Leader of Worcestershire County Council, Simon Geraghty said today: "We are all deeply saddened on hearing of the passing of our former colleague and friend Ken Pollock.
"He shared my passion for improving the County's connectivity, including through the Cotswold Line taskforce and Superfast Worcestershire broadband, and developing the skills of the next generation through apprenticeships so his passing is keenly felt at this time.
"Our deepest condolences are conveyed to his family at this most difficult time for them."
