Three people have been arrested after the local community raised concerns about drug-dealing in an area of Hereford.

Members of the public had contacted police with concerns drugs were being dealt in Churchill Gardens in the city. In response officers carried out plain clothed patrols and yesterday stopped and searched a man and a boy. They found cannabis and a number of mobile phones.

A 24-year-old man and 17-year-old boy were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug.

Officers then searched a property on Victoria Street and discovered cannabis, a large quantity of cash and drug dealing paraphernalia.

A 27-year-old man was arrested at the property on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug.

Detective Sergeant Jim Moore said: “The three arrests made yesterday was a brilliant result for Hereford’s CID following the concern from members of that community who do not want drugs on their streets.

“We will always act upon information given to us and this is another example of how important it is that members of the public do report any suspicious activity.

“Drug dealing will not be tolerated in our city”.

All three have been released on bail whilst investigations continue.
