Officers are investigating following a report of a teenage girl being approached by an unknown male along Hereford Road in Abergavenny.
The incident occurred at approximately 1:30pm on Wednesday 23rd August 2017.
The male is described as black, with short black hair and driving a large black vehicle.
A police spokesman told Sunshine Radio: "We would like to stress that no-one was hurt and this appears to be an isolated incident as there have been no other reports of this nature in the area."
"At this time enquiries are ongoing with the victim and officers would like to reassure the public a full investigation is underway to locate the male."
"There will continue to be an increase in police patrols in the area to reassure residents but we would like to remind the community that incidents of this nature in Abergavenny are rare."
