The Taste of Herefordshire Food Festival, held at Oakchurch, Staunton-on-Wye, proved to be a great success for local food and drink producers, with thousands of visitors attending from all over the county and well beyond.
“The event was hot on the tail of the national ‘Great Taste’ awards, announcing that twenty-one local Herefordshire produced foods and drinks had been recognised for their high quality and flavour, so it was an ideal chance to taste many of the award-winning products, and many more, all in one place.” Said Nick Price, Owner/Manager at Oakchurch. “Twenty of the twenty-one Herefordshire Great Taste award winning products are available here.”
“These days, people are genuinely interested to know more about where their food actually comes from.” Said Nick. “So, our Food Festival proved to be the perfect opportunity to not only find out where and how the ingredients are grown, but also talk to the people who actually grew it and made it.”
“We count ourselves to be so lucky to be located in rural Herefordshire where amazing food is always available in great abundance, right here on our doorstep.”
“It really makes a difference to the quality and the flavour and we’re proud to be the culinary showcase for so many local Herefordshire food and drink producers.”
Oakchurch is at Staunton-on-Wye, 10 miles from Hereford on the A438 Brecon Road. Open 7 days a week.
