Ross on Wye bar seeks 2am music licence

A restaurant in a Herefordshire town could be about to get a licence for live music until late.

Baftjar Zhuzhi has applied for an alcohol and live music licence at 39 High Street, Ross-on-Wye.

Formerly Leonards At 39, the premises now trades as Tweet Bar & Kitchen.

In November, it posted online that “due to a delay in the transfer of our premises alcohol licence in our new name, we are temporarily unable to serve alcohol”.

“You do, however, have the option to bring your own bottle free of charge,” it said.

Under the applied-for licence, alcohol would be served until 11.30pm and until 1.30am on Fridays and Saturdays.

The venue is also seeking permission for live music until 11pm, until 2am on Fridays and Saturdays and holidays, and until 10pm on Sundays.

Permission for recorded music and hot food and drink service until midnight and until 2am on Fridays and Saturdays is also sought.

The restaurant undertakes to keep windows and external doors closed after 11pm, not to place bottles or other refuse outside between 11pm and 8am, and to post signs asking customers to leave quietly.

The licensing application can be commented on via the Herefordshire Council website until March 1.
