A leisure park plans to open a summer “gin garden” next to the river Wye in a scenic part of Herefordshire.
Christine Collins, who runs the Riverside Bar at the Symonds Yat West Leisure Park south of Ross-on-Wye, says in her licensing application that she would also like to sell drinks “in the garden, in one of the outbuildings”.
These would be served from 1pm to 11pm, “on Friday, Saturday and Sunday through the summer months”, due to the risk of flooding from the river during the rest of the year, her application says.
There would also be recorded music that “may be heard outdoors”, while food would be served inside and in an external seating area.
CCTV would be used to monitor the premises.
The licensing application can be commented on until August 21.
