Two firms have been rapped over safety failings in Herefordshire.
Property Partners Services of Cardiff, a private landlord and property investment company, was served an immediate prohibition notice by Health & Safety Executive (HSE) officers on March 28.
The company had “failed to take measures, such as a fixed perimeter scaffold with suitable edge protection, to prevent persons carrying out roof work from falling from the roof” at Bannut Tree Lane, Bridstow near Ross-on-Wye, the HSE said.
The firm declined to comment on the case.
And R&D Workforce Solutions of London was also served an immediate prohibition notice on March 20 for having “failed to provide fire precautions measures, including a means of detecting fire, raising the alarm, means of escape and fire fighting equipment” at an address at Clinton Road, part of Leominster’s industrial zone.
The firm’s owner Doru Rosu said his staff “were just in the wrong place at the wrong time” when an inspection was made while they carrying out clearance and painting work at the premises, believed to be a warehouse.
Both cases have now been resolved, an HSE spokesperson confirmed.
