Poundland is closing its Abergavenny store after more than a decade on the high street.
The discount chain, recently sold for £1 to Gordon Brothers, is shutting a number of branches across the UK.
The closure means job losses locally and concerns over reduced footfall for nearby businesses.
It follows other closures in Pontypool, Cardiff and Ammanford.
