Police officers say they are 99% sure who is behind a recent spate of arson attacks in Ross-on-Wye.
West Mercia Police began hunting for the culprits of what they believe to have been deliberate fires in March.
PC Shirley Peters told councillors that two people have been interviewed.
“We’ve had two male youths, who on every single occasion, seem to be in the area,” she said.
“Those two young males have been in and have been interviewed.
“We haven’t had any more arson attacks since the males have been spoken to.
“So I’m hoping that it has done some good.
“I’m awaiting the outcome of what the Crown Prosecution Service advise.
“Although they were in the area we are trying to check some phone data on who called the fire brigade.
“Every single time the fire brigade was called and these lads were in the area when firefighters turned up at all the arson attacks.
“It’s 99% that we think it is those two but it all depends on whether CPS have enough to charge them with it.”
