A person was cut free from a vehicle after a crash at a level crossing.
Emergency services were called to the level crossing at Onibury this evening.
The vehicle had hit the barrier and come to rest on its side covering both railway tracks.
Firefighters from Church Stretton Fire Station used cutting equipment to remove the driver from the vehicle and was passed on to the Ambulance Service.
Highways England said the A49 will be closed for sometime while the vehicle is recovered and the railway lines then inspected.
Transport for Wales are warning of significant disruption until end of service.
