Herefordshire Council says it wants to charge people more when parking near popular locations in the county.
It has suggested proposals of setting car parks into three categories:
- Work and Stay - Long stay parking for commuters, day or overnight visitors.
- Eat and Visit - Central parking for workers and visitors
- Stop to Shop - Convenient park for short stay visits
The car parks would be placed into the three group bands across the county where one charge will apply in Hereford, another in large market towns of Ledbury, Leominster, Ross-on-Wye and another for Kington.

In a letter, Cabinet Member for Infrastructure and Transport, Cllr John Harrington, says drivers that wish to park in more central or popular locations should be expected to pay more.
