Police are appealing for witnesses to a collision on the B4352 between Bredwardine to Merbach, near Hay on Wye yesterday evening.
The incident happened around 9.05pm and involved a grey Renault Clio that had been travelling along the B4352, Hay on Wye towards Hereford. The vehicle had left the road and collided with a tree.
The driver, a man in his 50s, was taken to Hereford County Hospital where he was sadly later pronounced deceased.
Formal identification is due to take place and next of kin have been notified.
Officers are appealing for any witnesses to the collision, or anybody who saw the manner in which either vehicle was being driving prior to the collision to contact them on 101, quoting incident number 772s of 17 October 2017.
