Police have arrested a 47-year-old man from Hereford on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm after police were called to an incident in Bridge Street in the early hours of Sunday morning.
He was arrested in the early hours of 9 June and following questioning, was released on police bail pending further enquiries that evening.
Following the assault the same man who was assaulted is believed to have fallen down some stairs near Aubrey Street. He was taken by ambulance to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham with serious head injuries. He is currently in an induced coma in a stable condition.
