West Mercia Police have been given extra time to question a 22-year-old from Willenhall arrested over a suspected murder in Hereford city centre.
Robert Eacock died in hospital on Monday evening after being stabbed on Commercial Street.
The extension means the man can be held for another 36 hours.
A post mortem has shown Robert died from a single stab wound.
