Another Herefordshire country pub has applied for permission to create guest accommodation.
The grade II listed Butchers Arms, on a minor country road near Woolhope between Hereford and Ledbury, does not currently offer accommodation.
An application by Steve House of Huntley, Gloucestershire seeks permission for a “small” flat-roofed 40-square-metre extension in place of an existing patio and smoking area to the rear of the pub, and for the change of use of a garage, to house a row of four en suite letting bedrooms.
“This is as a result of requests for overnight accommodation from tourists in the area,” his application says.
The change would increase the staffing at the pub from seven full-time-equivalent posts, to ten.
Comments on the application, numbered 232135, can be made until August 17.
