County councillor Bernard Hunt has died at the age of 77.
The Newton Farm ward councillor had been battling a long-term terminal illness.
His family say he was going about his council ward business when he was found dead in his car near the Oval in Hereford on Tuesday afternoon.
Coun Hunt, a member of the Herefordshire True Independents, was elected to Herefordshire Council in May last year.
