Gwent PCC Condemns 'Cowardly' Terror Attack

The Police and Crime Commissioner for Gwent (PCC), Jeff Cuthbert, has condemned Sunday's terror attack on innocent civilians in London and highlighted that now is a time for community cohesion more than ever.

Gwent PCC Jeff Cuthbert said: "Terrorism comes in many forms as last night's callous and outrageous attack on innocent civilians in London demonstrated. This was a cowardly attack and we must not let these merchants of hate spread their poisonous message of division and intolerance. It is always the innocent people in our communities who unfortunately suffer the consequences of their horrific actions. Our thoughts are with the victims, their families and friends during this tragic time.  

It's sickening that the attack happened a few days after national celebration events were organised throughout the UK to promote community cohesion in memory of Labour MP Jo Cox, who was tragically murdered by a far right extremist whilst carrying out her duties in the community last year.

As I have repeatedly stated, hate crime will not be tolerated in Gwent and there will be consequences for the perpetrators."
