A Herefordshire garage plans to install a new food-to-go area for hungry drivers.
Motor Fuel Group, which operates the Texaco petrol station on the Bromyard bypass, has applied for permission (number 233766) to add a single-storey extension to the existing retail and workshop area.
The 83-square-metre addition would replace the current car wash area immediately to the east of the shop.
Currently a Budgens, this would also be reconfigured inside, submitted plans show.
The extension would include a savoury counter, sandwich rack, cake display and what are described as “crisp impulse units”.
The new brick exterior and aluminium-framed windows and door would match the existing building, and it would have a flat roof.
It would increase employment at the site from the current three full-time and four part-time staff, to eight full-time and six part-time, the application says.
Comments on the application can be submitted until February 15.
