Monmouthshire County Council will hold a series of drop-in events in the New Year so that people interested in fostering can chat about the options available.
January is a time for New Year’s resolutions and fresh starts so the council is urging people considering fostering to contact them because children and young people in Monmouthshire need homes today.
The events will be held in Monmouth’s Shire Hall on Thursday 10th January, the Angel Hotel in Abergavenny on Thursday 17thJanuary and the St Pierre Marriot Hotel near Chepstow on Thursday 24th January. Each event will run from 10am to 12noon with a further session from 6pm to 8pm.
Monmouthshire’s cabinet member with responsibility for its fostering service, Councillor Penny Jones said: “If you’ve previously considered fostering please come to talk to us – you won’t regret it. Monmouthshire County Council offers excellent training and support for foster carers and it really is so rewarding. This could be the year that you transform a child or young person’s life.”
