There has been an increase in discarded disposable paper masks on streets in Herefordshire.
Residents across the county have raised concerns by the lack of targeted action to tackle littering of disposable masks.
It comes after the wearing of face coverings became mandatory in shops and supermarkets in England on 24 July as part of the Government’s measures to control Covid-19.
Director of Public Health in Herefordshire, Karen Wright, said: "The face masks could be contaminated with germs and should be disposed of properly."
