Concerns have been raised over lorry traffic in Monmouthshire after the Severn Bridge was closed to heavy goods vehicles.
The 60-year-old crossing on the M48 has a new weight restriction to reduce pressure on its cables, forcing HGVs onto the M4’s Prince of Wales Bridge — a 13-mile detour.
But councillors say more lorries are now using the B4245 through Caldicot, causing congestion in residential areas.
