West Mercia Police have confirmed that, sadly, a body found in the River Severn last weekend is that of 72-year-old Leung (Mary) Yap, who was reported as missing from her home in Malvern in mid November 2017.
Leung's (Mary's) body was located in the river near Ryall at about 12.20pm on Saturday 6 January, and has now been formally identified by Worcestershire Coroners. Her death is not being treated as suspicious.
Chief Inspector Jerry Reakes-Williams said: "Mary's next of kin have been informed of this very sad news, and are being supported at this difficult time. I'd like to thank everyone on social media and in the local community who shared our appeals to find Mary."
