Gwent Police have confirmed that the body of a man found near Monmouth yesterday is that of Andrew Lambert.
The discovery was made in woodland near the town yesterday lunchtime.
In a statement, Gwent Police said: "We can confirm formal identification has taken place and the man has been identified as Andrew Lambert, aged 28, from Monmouth."
Mr Lambert was reported as missing on Sunday, September 26.
Police have also confirmed that Mr Lambert's death is not being treated as suspicious.
His family have been informed, as has HM Coroner.
Mr Lambert's family have stated that they wish to thank everyone who helped in trying to locate him.
