The president of Hereford’s future university has been awarded for work at the New Model Institute for Technology and Engineering.
Professor Elena Rodriguez-Falcon, has been named ‘Executive Leader of The Year 2020’ in the Engineering Talent Awards 2020.
These awards aim to raise the profile of the UK engineering and technology profession and highlight diversity in engineering through showcasing role models to inspire people to consider careers in engineering and technology.
She is also a Mexican national and has been honoured with an award from the Embassy of Mexico for her leadership and outstanding performance in the UK.
The ceremony was held earlier this month at the Mexican Embassy in London where Professor Rodriguez-Falcon was named Distinguished Mexican in the United Kingdom.

Elena Rodriguez-Falcon said: “I’m humbled and proud to have been selected to receive these awards on a personal and professional level, both as a Mexican living and working in the UK as well as a woman working in STEM.”
