Police are appealing for witnesses following the theft of an ATM from the McColl's store in Hatton Park, Bromyard.
Officers were called at just before 2.15am today to reports of a digger being used to get the machine out of the wall.
The offenders are thought to have left the scene in a dark estate vehicle and a pickup type vehicle.
Detective Inspector Mark Peters of Herefordshire CID said: "We are urging anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward with any information, no matter how trivial they think it may be.
"There are often precursor offences that are committed to facilitate these crimes and we are particularly urging the public to report any sightings of any suspicious behaviour in the general area prior to the offence.
"There will a visible police presence in the area over the coming days to reassure the community as we continue our investigation."
