An attempt is under way to remove two unauthorised travellers’ caravans from a Herefordshire village.
Housing association Stonewater confirmed that the caravans had appeared at its Burton Gardens retirement living scheme in Weobley west of Hereford on March 1.
“Our specialist housing team are in touch with residents who have raised concerns about anti-social behaviour in the area,” its spokesperson said.
“We’ve made contact and requested that the caravans are removed and have started the process to take legal action if they are not moved within seven days as requested.
“We have also alerted the police and the local authority to make sure that those in the caravans are supported and can move to a suitable home.
“We understand the need for the caravans to be removed as soon as possible.”
Herefordshire Council confirmed it was aware of the situation, but said it would be for the housing association as landowner to initiate legal action.
